Birthday gift

So we broke down and gave her the birthday truck/car/push-thing early... She loves it!

She figured out out to climb on it and stand right away. She was using it like a skateboard in the driveway - do they make helmets for babies?

Beep! Beep! "Man, I hate these early morning traffic jams!"

Fun with magnets! The latest game with these acrobats it to fling them at the fridge - great fun for kids of all ages...

Cutie Pie

Some random cutie pie shots of our girl...

The Sea Dogs Rally Monkey is almost as big as she is...

That smile is gonna be trouble...I mean really who could say no to that face?

So I found this itty bitty barrettes - and they match her outfit - I think I am becoming a sock matching momma...be afraid, be very afraid.

Almost a year...

It is hard to believe that at this time last year Matt and I were making our final plans to fly to Texas for Althea's birth. So much has happened since then - it is a bit overwhelming to think about it all. Last week she took her first steps while we were visiting with Aunt Louise at cousin Ann's house. Yes, she is slowly making the move from finger walking to walking on her own - right now it is only about five steps at a time but it will soon be a full on run.

Althea loves Cooper. Althea loves all dogs - she screams with joy whenever she sees a dog. Yesterday she nose snuggled with Pearl the Pug, too cute!

Althea would love to snuggle up each night with Cooper instead of with her Teddy Bear.

Playing in the garden.

Yes it is a pink soccer ball and no I am not a soccer mom. She likes to play pass.

Gimme that spoon!

So for some time now we have been experimenting with letting her feed herself - generally with just a spoonful of food. About two weeks ago I gave her a bowl of yogurt and a spoon and let her try the whole thing herself. The dog was very happy about this arrangement.

Working the spoon, testing her grip and scooping action.

I am not sure where she gets her flair for the dramatic...

And Will, I am pretty sure she is going to play the drums - since Seattle everything can be turned into a drum. She did actually manage to eat about six spoonfuls before dumping the yogurt on the table and deciding to play some music.
