Visitors

We have had a great month of visits from loads of folks - friends and family - here are a couple of shots of our most recent visitors with the star herself, Miss Althea Rose.

Alison, Nicholas, Althea and Cathy visit with each other. Nicholas did an excellent job holding Miss Althea - she loves hanging out with member of her "tribe".

Aunt Cecile was in Portland visiting Matt's cousin John and Bonnie. We were delighted when she called and asked to visit with Miss Althea.

She's getting to be a big girl

Today is Althea's 8 week milestone - she "officially" turns two months old on Sunday. Highlights of the latest and greatest developments of her life include: holding her head up for extended periods of time, grasping items in her hands, drooling, attempting to crawl, cooing, gurgling and making laughing like sounds and room clearing belches.

In the words of Homer Simpson

Doh!

We forgot to take photos at the latest Althea meet and greet...

On Saturday Amy put together a really nice gathering of former Estabrook's folks to welcome Althea into the world. Matt, Althea and I had a great time chatting and laughing with Margi, Bob, Meg, Kathy, Tim, Amy, Jeremy and Lexie! Thank you all so much for the party, the adorable gifts - yes I read the bird book to her already - the delicious food (hmmm...can't talk eating cake) and the great company.

Take me out to the ballgame

Althea went to her first Red Sox game last night! We stayed for the entire game because as Michael said, "You only have one first game. You have to stay to the last out." It was a really good game despite the loss and it was nice to be back at the park after what seems like an eternity.

Chris, Matt and Althea with the classic "get the Fenway sign" pose. Love those little red Mary Jane socks Althea is sporting.

Althea and Chris sing some Neil Diamond - gotta start her early.

Rhode Island Russ and his family bought Althea a stuffed "Paws" doll, the PawSox mascot - he hung out with her in her Baby Bjorn most of the night. Thanks Russ - that was completely unexpected and sooo...sweet!

Root Root Root for the Red Sox!

Althea was sporting her homemade Red Sox shirt - she has loads of Red Sox gear but is too small to fit into most of it : )

"Timlin! You're the man!"

"Thanks Althea!"

"Put me in coach, I'm ready to play."

"Must be in the front row."

Auntie Melva

Of course Melva held Althea at her first Red Sox game - we wouldn't have it any other way!

Awwww...

And Melva took Althea on tour through Section 41 - sorry 'bout the blurry photo...

Headin' to Fenway

We are headin' into Boston today for the game, yup, Althea's first Red Sox game and first trip to Fenway. Right now I need to sort through her enormous collection of Sox gear and see what fits : ) We'll post photos late night or early tomorrow of her Fenway trip.

Sad state of affairs

Hi everyone -

Althea's blog was spammed yesterday by some person wanting to advertise their own blog. Because of the spamming I have opted to turn on the moderate comments feature on the blog - this means that when you post a comment it will not appear right away, I will have to "approve" it. I removed the post that he spammed and reposted it this morning.

Hope you are having a fantastic day!

Chris

Do you think they called each other in the morning to plan this?

Cousin Jakob

Does Jakob look excited about having a new cousin or what?

Little Red Riding Hood?

"My what big teeth you have."
"All the better for eating lobster!"

Althea's family meet and greet

This weekend Chris' parents held a little family meet and greet for Althea. We had a very nice time and Althea now has some clothing for when she gets bigger : ) yeah! Thank you all very much for coming and for the beautiful gifts. We are trying the Althea Rose of Sharon tree (yeah that's right she is so... special she already has a plant named for her) out in different locations in the yard.

Aunt Mary made this delicious, beautiful and fun cake for Miss Althea. Matt and I are still stunned at the detail in the decorating : )
